ENGINEERING ASSET
FlexCharge.OCPP
The OCPP delivery accelerator. A reusable, modular engineering asset that accelerates OCPP integration for EV charging projects. One component within Clemios' eMobility engineering scope for production-ready charging systems.
What Is FlexCharge.OCPP?
FlexCharge.OCPP is an internal engineering asset developed by Clemios. It provides a modular, production-ready OCPP engineering foundation that Clemios engineers use to accelerate protocol integration in EV charging projects.
The architecture abstracts transport, security, and hardware layers, allowing Clemios engineers to focus on client-specific integration requirements rather than rebuilding protocol foundations for each project.
FlexCharge.OCPP is not for sale. It is an internal engineering asset that Clemios teams use to deliver OCPP integration faster, with consistent patterns and traceable validation across projects.
Architecture
Each layer isolates a specific integration risk. When Clemios engineers start a new project, these boundaries prevent rework caused by backend changes, certificate rotation, hardware swaps, or protocol upgrades.
| Layer | Scope | Protects Against |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Protocol Core | Message routing, state handling, profile support | Protocol-version drift between CSMS and charger |
| 2. Communication Layer | Transport and session handling, message encoding and decoding | Backend connectivity variance across deployments |
| 3. Security and Certificates | TLS session handling, certificate lifecycle | Certificate rotation failures and TLS misconfiguration |
| 4. Hardware Abstraction | Drivers, I/O adapters, vendor-specific isolation | Hardware swap forcing protocol-layer changes |
| 5. Diagnostics and Logging | Structured logging and metrics, fault reporting | Silent failures in field deployments |
| 6. Lifecycle and Update Hooks | Boot and shutdown handling, update management | Firmware update regressions and boot-sequence faults |
Engineering Capabilities
- Modular, production-ready architecture
- OCPP 2.0.1 actively implemented (OCPP 2.1 in development)
- Abstracts transport and security layers
- Scoped hardware abstraction for target charger platforms
- Backend and CSMS integration scoping
- OCTT-based conformance preparation
FlexCharge.OCPP reduces integration risk and ramp-up time for new OCPP projects. Instead of building protocol infrastructure from scratch, Clemios engineers integrate pre-built modules into client-specific architectures. The result: faster production delivery, fewer integration defects, and charger systems validated before handover.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. FlexCharge.OCPP is an internal engineering asset. Clemios uses it to deliver OCPP integration projects. It is not available for purchase, licensing, or standalone deployment.
OCPP 2.0.1 is actively implemented. OCPP 2.1 is in development.
The hardware abstraction layer supports adaptation across chip vendors and I/O configurations per project. This is not universal plug-and-play compatibility; each integration is scoped to the target hardware.
It provides pre-built protocol, transport, security, and diagnostic modules that Clemios engineers integrate into client-specific architectures, reducing ramp-up time.
Clemios is actively testing with OCTT. The validation approach follows OCTT-based conformance preparation and interoperability validation. Formal certification is not claimed where it has not been achieved.
FlexCharge.OCPP is one delivery accelerator within Clemios' eMobility engineering scope. Charger firmware, backend integration, hardware validation, and conformance preparation are handled alongside OCPP protocol work as part of a complete EV charging delivery.
