Employer of Record Explained

Employer of Record (EoR) means Clemios acts as the legal employer for engineers assigned to a client project. Clemios handles local employment law compliance, payroll, tax obligations, and benefits administration. The client directs the engineering work. All legal and administrative infrastructure is managed by Clemios. This enables companies to hire engineering talent in Cameroon without establishing a local entity, subsidiary, or branch office.

The client specifies engineering skills, experience level, and project scope. Clemios identifies and screens candidates from the trained engineering pool.

Clemios Employs
Clemios becomes the legal employer and handles the employment contract, payroll, tax, insurance, and local compliance. The engineer works exclusively on the assigned project.

Client-Directed Work
The client manages the engineer's daily work, assigns tasks, and integrates them into the project team. Clemios handles all administrative and legal obligations.

Candidates come from the Clemios Academy training pipeline. Each engineer completes structured training and internal assessment before project assignment.

18-month full-time engineering programme in Cameroon. Curriculum covers software engineering, embedded development, DevOps, and cloud computing. Training delivered by German and local engineering leads.

Internal Assessment

Can an EoR engineer be converted to a direct hire?

Clemios engineers specialise in eMobility software domains including OCPP 2.0.1 protocol integration (actively implemented), embedded Linux, and test engineering. OCPP 2.1 support is in development. All engineers complete structured training through the Clemios Academy before project assignment.

All engineers sign NDAs and IP assignment agreements as part of their employment contracts. Intellectual property created during the engagement belongs to the client, and Clemios enforces these protections under Cameroonian law.
